Investing Research Lead
Own the diligence framework Meridian reasons from, and the evaluation set that keeps it honest.
- Location
- San Francisco, CA or remote in the US
- Type
- Full time
- Compensation
- $150,000 to $185,000 plus 0.2% to 0.5% equity
The memo is only as good as the framework behind it: what a healthy retention curve looks like at seed, where a TAM claim is usually inflated, which risks matter at which stage, and which questions actually change a decision.
You would turn how great investors think into the structure Meridian works from, and into the labelled decks every model change is graded against.
What you would own
- Own the diligence rubric by stage and sector, and keep it current.
- Build and grow the evaluation set of decks with known answers.
- Review memos against real outcomes and feed what you learn back into the prompts.
- Be the internal check on the not-advice line: analysis, never a recommendation.
What we are looking for
- Investing experience at an angel, seed fund or accelerator, with real reps reading decks.
- You can write a risk in two sentences an investor will act on.
- You are comfortable working next to engineers and reading a little code.
- You care about being right more than being fast.
How hiring runs
A thirty minute call with a founder, then a paid work session on a real problem from our backlog, three to four hours, then conversations with two people you would work with. Four steps, usually inside two weeks, and we tell you where you stand at every one.
